Brown Coir

Brown coir and white coir is used in floor mats and doormats, brushes, mattresses, floor tiles and sacking twine. It is also used as insulation and for packaging. The major use of white coir is in rope manufacture. Mats of woven coir fibre are made from the finer grades of bristle and white and brown coir using hand or mechanical looms. White coir also used to make fishing nets due to its strong resilience to salt water.

Coir Pith

Coir pith make up about 1/3 of the of coconut pulp. The other 2/3 is called the pith or dust, it is a biodegradable by- product of coconut fiber. It is now widely being used as mulch, soil treatment and a hydroponic growth medium all over the world.
